Sometimes I feel that there aren’t enough restrictive laws in the U.S. to keep people at bay and under control. Of course it might be true what they say. The more laws you have the more rebellious and secretive people will become. However, it seems that someone is taking some ‘serious’ action down in Tallahassee, Florida. The Florida Senate has just passed a bill to keep students from ‘dropping their pants’!
The Senate in Florida decided that they were tired of all the baggy pants that students are wearing these days and said that any student caught wearing them could be suspended from school. This isn’t a law yet until it is passed by the House of representative – but we all know how those people are very liberal and want to see our children dressing right. Apparently many other cities have already passed this law and it won’t be long before everyone jumps on board.
I’ll admit that this fashion statement among teenagers today is very annoying and having to see their underwear on a daily basis is more than frightening – but passing a law for this might be going to far. I think maybe the school should just raise their standards and the dress code and maybe the parents could chip in a little.
Only time will tell whether or not the Saggy Pant Law will make it through.
